Sunderland Manager Steve Bruce Blasts Former Liverpool Boss Rafael Benitez

Bruce accused Benitez attempting to disrupt the former striker Sunderland, declaring an interest therein during the January transfer window. Bruce also criticized the way the inter Manager spent the money that you were assigned during his reign at Anfield.

Successor Benitez, Roy Hodgson, is held in high regard by Bruce, and Sunderland manager expects nothing harmful your counterpart on Saturday.

"If you look at the money that Rafael Benitez had to go, I'd expect Roy Hodgson [] think he would have more strength in depth than what he has," Bruce told reporters.

"Make no mistake, he inherited a fantastic club with history and tradition and it always has the likes of Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Joe Cole. But he inherited a hard and a very difficult job.

"I know one thing-it will be much, much better than the other manager who had and they will be more respected on our part in the game.

"Behavior of Benitez towards us was absolutely disgusting and affected our season. I know for a fact that Roy wouldn't go down that route."

Bruce, however, sure of abuse that he is subjected to about the size of his head, when he makes the trip at Anfield.

He said: "I get ' Fat Head ' Liverpool ' the Elephant Man ' Man City and ' Mr potato head ' at West Brom. There's something wrong with my head or something?"
