Stuttgart sign Asian Cup winner Okazaki until 2014

Winner of the Championship Asia Shinji Okazaki joined second low VfB Stuttgart in a shuttle Shimizu S-Pulse, the Bundesliga club said on Sunday.

Okazaki helped Japan lift Asia Cup with a 1-0 victory over Australia in the final in Doha on Saturday.

"I stepped on the plane while my teammates were still celebrating," said the 24-year-old in a presentation before the game at home against Freiburg.

"I hope I can contribute to make the team stronger," added Okazaki after signing a contract until 2014.
