Stuttgart woes mount after defeat by Freiburg

* Stuttgart lose first game since winter break


* Placed last Gladbach snatch late winner against Frankfurt


VfB Stuttgart Problems continue after a home defeat by SC Freiburg 1-0 on Sunday left the champions of 2006-07 firmly in a Bundesliga relegation battle.


Johannes Flumen grabbed the winner after 24 minutes for visitors, who are enjoying a brilliant season and moved up to sixth.


Stuttgart gathered in 16 points in 20 games for Borussia Moenchengladbach underside that stunned Eintracht Frankfurt five minutes into the second half with a goal of Belgian Igor de Camargo to win 1-0.


Both teams are three points of Cologne, which occupy the relegation playoff place.


Stuttgart, suffering their first defeat since the League resumed after the winter break, were dominant in the second half, but with Brazilian Cocoa missing, they lacked a cutting edge against Freiburg.


Sven Schipplock could not beat the keeper of Freiburg Oliver Baumann with a curling shot right in the Centre of Midway through the second period and Martin Harnik Stuttgart reached the post a minute time.


Leaders Borussia Dortmund crushed hosts VfL Wolfsburg 3-0 on Saturday to go eleven points clear at the top, with Bayer Leverkusen secondly in 39. Bayern Munich have fought back to a 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen to move up to third in 36.
